Maylin Final Post
As someone who has never read any Murakami works until now, I have been surprised with how much I liked reading his stories. Friends have recommended Murakami as a "must-read", and I finally had the chance to read some of his works. I wasn't sure what to expect, and after reading A Wild Sheep Chase, I wasn't sure whether or not I liked his works. The concepts in Murakami works were interesting but strange, and I can't remember the last work I've read that had such concepts, so it was a new experience for me. However, I think I did end up liking A Wild Sheep Chase because it was such an interesting storyline with the sheep, which can be interpreted in different ways. Out of all Murakami works, I think I liked The Strange Library the most, which I felt was easier to understand. It probably was because I had gotten used to the strangeness and supernatural elements of Murakami's works, and I was able to inference and recognize most of the characters that have appeared in other Murakami works we read in the class. I'm hoping to read more Murakami works in the future, so I'll be planning to buy some other Murakami works to read when I have time.
